Leadership

An elder is a spiritually mature, biblically qualified leader who oversees the church’s doctrine, direction, and care. Elders shepherd God’s people, guard the truth, and model Christlike character.

What an Elder Is

  • A shepherd who cares for the spiritual well‑being of the congregation (1 Peter 5:2).

  • A teacher who can rightly handle Scripture and defend sound doctrine (Titus 1:9).

  • A guardian who protects the church from false teaching (Acts 20:28–31).

  • A servant‑leader who leads by example, not by force or personal authority (1 Peter 5:3).

  • A mature believer whose life reflects consistent godliness (1 Timothy 3:1–7).

A deacon is a servant‑leader in the church who meets practical needs, supports the ministry of the Word, and models Christlike service. Deacons free the elders to focus on teaching and shepherding by faithfully caring for the physical and logistical needs of the congregation.

What a Deacon Is

  • A servant who joyfully meets practical needs in the church (Acts 6:1–3).

  • A supporter of unity, helping prevent conflict and strengthen fellowship.

  • A hands‑on helper who manages tasks, ministries, and care efforts.

  • A trusted believer known for integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity.

  • A bridge‑builder who helps the church function smoothly and lovingly.

A church treasurer is a trusted steward who manages the financial integrity of the congregation. The treasurer oversees giving, budgeting, reporting, and financial accountability so the church can carry out its ministries with transparency, wisdom, and good stewardship before God and His people.

What a Treasurer Is

  • A faithful steward who handles the church’s finances with honesty and care.

  • A record‑keeper who maintains accurate financial reports, budgets, and documentation.

  • A trusted leader known for integrity, discretion, and reliability.

  • A supporter of ministry, ensuring resources are used wisely and missionally.

  • A protector of transparency, helping the church remain above reproach in all financial matters.

A church board member is a trusted servant‑leader who helps guide the church’s mission, ministries, and stewardship. Board members work together with the pastor to provide spiritual support, administrative oversight, and wise decision‑making so the church can operate with unity, integrity, and clarity.

What a Board Member Is

  • A partner in ministry who supports the pastor and leadership team.

  • A representative of the congregation, offering insight, care, and accountability.

  • A decision‑maker who helps shape the church’s direction and policies.

  • A faithful steward who ensures resources are used wisely and missionally.

  • A spiritual example, modeling maturity, humility, and unity.
