Our Beliefs

At First Church of the Nazarene, our faith is centered on Jesus Christ and rooted in historic Christian tradition. We believe in a holy, loving God who invites every person into a life of grace, hope, and transformation. Below is a simple summary of the core beliefs that shape our worship, our mission, and our daily walk with Christ.

We Believe...

in One God

God is the holy, loving Creator of all things. He is one God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

in Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God’s Son, fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died for our salvation, rose again, ascended to heaven, and intercedes for us today.

in the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is always present and active—convicting, guiding, regenerating, and sanctifying believers.

the Bible is God’s Inspired Word

The Old and New Testaments contain all truth necessary for faith and Christian living.

Humanity Needs God’s Grace

All people are born with a fallen nature and are inclined toward sin. Without God’s grace, we cannot save ourselves.

in Salvation Through Jesus Christ

Christ’s atonement is sufficient for everyone. Those who repent and believe are forgiven, made new, and adopted as God’s children.

in Entire Sanctification

God calls believers to a life of holiness. Through the Holy Spirit, we can be cleansed from sin, filled with His love, and empowered to live Christlike lives.

in the Church

The Church is the community of believers who confess Jesus as Lord. We worship, grow, serve, and join God’s mission to make Christlike disciples in the nations.

in Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Baptism and Communion are sacraments—visible signs of God’s grace and our commitment to follow Christ.

God Heals

God heals through prayer and through medical means. We trust Him as the source of all healing.

Jesus Will Return

Christ will come again, evil will be defeated, and God will renew creation. Believers will live eternally with Him.

in Resurrection and Final Judgment

All people will be raised and stand before God. Eternal life is promised to those who follow Christ; eternal separation awaits those who reject Him.
